Internal Hydration And Your Skin

Updated: Mar 4

If your hair, lips, or skin are dry apply a naturally derived topical product, but if you don’t feel rapid relief—the issue may be internal.

Internal Hydration And Your Skin

Our skin is 64% water, so without adequate hydration your skin will feel dry. Overtime, your skin will crack, lose elasticity, wrinkle more rapidly, appear dull, and the pores on your face will become more prominent.

Hydrating From The Inside Out

To hydrate from the inside out drink no less than 64 ounces of water or unsweetened herbal tea per day. Additional hydration can include fruit, vegetables, broth, soup, milk, and one serving of an electrolyte beverage per day. Coffee counts too but skip the sugar. Also, ensure you consume at least 3 servings of skin-healthy Omega 3 fatty acids per week which you can include walnuts, flax seeds, avocado, and fish.

Even with internal hydration, your skin requires topical creams to lock-in moisture after we shower and protect our skin during the day. For Our Kin has partnered with LA-based Artisan Lisa C. to provide thick and creamy I.G.L.O.W. body butter. Made from skin-healthy mango butter, grapeseed oil, essential oils—with zero preservatives.
